I am not really a linguist. I pen terrible linguistics monographs for the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics. I earn my daily bread as a tax lawyer.

I also like to go climbing, and study the weirdest language I have ever heard of, Isan for fun.
Trail, Canada is my home. Naturally I would plainly prefer to be sitting back in Val-d’Or, Canada, where I can breed dogs, do fieldwork on the most interesting language I know of, Lillooet, and research my family’s ancestors, as well as practice speaking Sarikoli shakily; or putting my feet up around Putrajaya, Malaysia, where I can study the strangest language I’ve ever heard of, Chikaonde, survey semi-sentient sea horses, and play racquetball.
